Abdallah Shaarawi is a Cairo-based multidisciplinary visual media artist whose body of work is borderless. Being multinational, he was always interested in bringing together a vast array of subject matter in order to break down perceptions existing on opposite sides of the cultural spectrum. His purpose is to reveal hidden gems within this spectrum for a global audience saying: “I’m looking for the grey in a black and white world”. The medium In which he delivers his work is boundless and these include film, video art, documentary, and photography.
Upon graduating from Emerson College in Directing Film and Visual Media Arts, Abdallah worked on various sets and documentaries around the world including the USA, Columbia, Japan, and his native Egypt. He’s worked with well-known names such as Working Title Films and The New York Times. Abdallah is currently working as a fashion photographer along with his wide spectrum of fine art projects.
